If you have a blog then you will no doubt want as many people to see it as possible and the key to that is to provide high quality content. Focusing your efforts on creating the best standard of content which you can will not only make your readers want to come back, but it will also motivate them to share the content on their social media pages, thus growing the popularity of your blog. My buddy Bogoljub Karic has a really cool fashion blog and and he has been very helpful to me in terms of putting together high quality content. If you want to increase the quality of your content, here is how.
Offer Value
What are you offering the reader with the content that you are putting together? Are you giving them information? Are you intending to recount a story? To entertain the reader? Whatever the reason for writing your content it is absolutely vital that you pay close attention to what exactly you are giving the reader. People don’t read content online for nothing, they want to come away from reading the piece with something of value. The best thing to do is to write your piece and then when you review it put yourself in the shoes of a reader, focus on what value you are getting from this content.
Break It Up
Nobody wants to read an online article which is just written as a long winded stream of consciousness, it is important that you break the article up into pieces which are easily digestible. The best way to do this is to use sub-headings, media such as videos and photos, as well as short and punchy paragraphs. Doing this not only ensures that readers will finish the article, but also that they will absorb the information much easier.
Staying on Point
It can be easy to lose focus when you are writing an article and head off on a tangent but it is important that you keep bringing the article back to the original topic. There is nothing wrong with digressing from time to time, as long as it is relevant and as long as you keep bringing it back to the main topic.
Length
Length is a tricky subject, too long and people won’t read it, too short and you may not be able to give sufficient weight to what you are trying to convey. The general rule of thumb is that you should aim to write an article that is between 500-1000 words. If you have a lengthy story or piece which you want to put together then think about writing it in a couple of different parts, this way you can deliver the story which you want, whilst also being able to bring people back in the future when you release another part of the tale.
Focus on ensuring that the content which you create is of the very highest quality, do that and you can count on a much higher amount of interest.
