A GUIDE: START DOING YOGA AT HOME

Are you missing your regular yoga classes due to lockdown? Come find out how to never miss a day by doing yoga in your own home.

Must Follow Yoga Youtube Channels and Must Download Yoga Apps

Yoga has quickly become a popular way of staying fit. One reason for this is it can be done from the comfort of your own home. It’s also a low-impact, strength, and flexibility building workout that can be adapted to many levels and expertise. Yoga is relatively easy to begin. With the availability of today’s resources, it can be practically free to anybody who wants to give it a try before committing to something more serious. Below are a list of some channels on YouTube and a few apps that can help you break into the world of yoga at next to no cost.

Yoga with Antranik

What makes this channel so impressive is that Antranik posts Challenge videos to a playlist. You can do a different workout every single day for only 15 to 20 minutes. With such a variety to choose from, you don’t have to do the same routine every single day. This keeps things fresh and more exciting than being stuck in the same old routine every day.

Daily Yoga

Daily Yoga has a great free option for users to give them a taste of different yoga positions and workouts to do. There is the possibility of in-app purchases if you decide that you like what you’re using and want to take your learning a little bit further.

Fightmaster Yoga

This channel is for somebody a little bit more practiced in yoga but is looking for a more in-depth approach to their yoga practice. Led by Lesley Fightmaster, this channel is designed for those of us who want to advance our skills even further.

Yoga with Adrienne

If you have absolutely no idea where you should start with your yoga journey, I can’t recommend this channel enough. Adrienne is super calm and inviting. She has several exercises that are great for beginners. She also explains how to modify certain moves and positions for those of us who can’t quite reach that yet.

Simply Yoga

This app says it all in the name. It doesn’t come with a lot of bells and whistles, but it comes with enough for you to be able to just get in a quick yoga workout. It is an excellent app for those days where you know you need a little time to yourself but don’t have time for all the extras. It’s easy to adjust and to customize to your needs for the day.

We all have our own reasons for wanting to stay in and get our workout in. Whatever your reasons may be, all of these resources are a great place to begin your yoga practice and take it further when you are ready. They will save you heaps of time and money by allowing you to try something in the comfort and the privacy of your own home before venturing out into something a little more daring.
